About Us
A Ministry Rooted in Love, Service, and Community
For over 20 years, we’ve supported adults with disabilities through Christ-centered, compassionate care.
Mission Statement
To promote the physical, social and spiritual well-being of adults with developmental disabilities.
We will provide a living environment that encourages better quality of life for our community members, strengthens the family, and encourages congregational and community support.
Our Story
The vision for Goldensun Peace Ministries began in 1971 at Trinity Mennonite Church, when members created a faith-based program to support children and relatives with developmental disabilities. Though the program ended in 1978, families remained committed to building long-term, faith-centered care. That commitment led to the formation of Goldensun Peace Ministries in 2004 and its approval as an IDLA service provider in 2010. Today, Goldensun is a nonprofit serving 15 adults with developmental disabilities in a residential community in Glendale, continuing its mission of dignity, community, and care.

My 32-year-old son has lived at Goldensun for six years, making it a central part of our family’s life. I taught Special Education and second and third grade for 28 years before retiring. For 14 years, I also served as an on-stage coach for a theater group whose actors all had disabilities, helping them learn lines, songs, and providing support as needed.
